The Stoops are rapidly gaining national attention as the alternative, positive answer to the growing Australian hip-hop scene taking pride in being accessible to the masses. The Stoops are an easy listening, unpretentious hip-hop act. Nestled away in Perth Western Australia, Roc Walla, Pronto and Arms In Motion are striving ambitious perfectionists with a youthful presence; addicted to the beat whilst remaining true to their roots and original influences.

Living together in a little house donned “The Stoop” the group comprise of two crafty wordsmiths and their crate digging DJ. Over the past 8 years The Stoops have recorded, mixed and mastered their entire back album catalogue. Now residing in their own homes in the outer Perth suburbs each has member developed their own particular skill to assist in achieving the final result of an album release. They even do their own artwork!

The Stoops have been sitting under the radar for some time releasing mixtapes, short YouTube documentaries and concept albums. Their hard work came into fruition when winning the “2011 Western Australia Urban/hip-hop Song of the Year” with Free, the track that features Georgi Kay and was produced by Rae also gave the group a taste of national airplay on Triple J and synchronization on Foxtel.

Recently The Stoops have been performing to sold out crowds supporting world class musicians including Pete Rock, Loop Troop and Kurtis Blow and Australia acts The Herd, Thundamentals and Illy.  Their persistence is evidence of how strongly they feel towards their own music and soul-based dedication. Their upcoming album, due to be release late 2012, collaborates with internationally acclaimed producers including Ta-ku. Crafting their most accomplished album it is sure to leave listeners consumed in the sound that is The Stoops.
