Rainy Day Women are four young men from Perth who are making some undeniably sunny pop tunes.

For a band that formed just over 12 months ago, it has certainly been a big year. Rainy Day Women toured nationally in 2011, and 2012 has seen them play festival spots at Melbourne’s St Kilda Festival, FUSE in Adelaide, and Groovin The Moo (WA). Their debut EP (released February 2012) has garnered radio attention nationwide, including title track Sleigh Bed  being added to rotation at triple j.

Capping off their first year very nicely, the band received two WAMi award nominations for “2012 Breakthrough Act” and “Most Promising New Act”. They were also pretty chuffed to be listed in Radar Music’s “10 Perth Artists You Need To Check Out”, which included the likes of Pond, San Cisco and Emperors.

Rainy Day Women are currently in the studio with producer Andy Lawson (Eskimo Joe, The Chemist), and have a new release planned for later this year.
